Poker Chip Shuffling Experiment - What is the pattern?
As I was playing poker, doing this little trick, I realized that if I repeat the process, I will get back to the same formation that I started with. These pictures may help me demonstrate. Anyway, the number of iterations it takes seems very I did up to nine by hand: 1 1 2 2 3 4 4 3 5 6 6 10 7 12 8 4 9 8 For the rest, I wrote a program in java. Here is an Excel sheet with a list and graph of the first 200 data points. The pattern seems so 'random' to me, I can't figure anything out except that the 2n chip has n-1 turns. Can you guys figure out a set of equations or something that describes the pattern? What type of math would be used to figure out the pattern?
Best Budget ($100 or less) Poker Chip Set That Are Capable of Shuffling?
Hello, I have recently gotten into poker and I'm trying to find a poker chip set around $100 that has chips that are capable of shuffling. I don't know if there is a certain material/style that allows them to be shuffled easier, but any help would be much appreciated! Thank you!
Whats the best place to buy a couple of poker chips to shuffle on my desk?
Just looking for a couple of chips to shuffle and mess around with in my room while I play online. I don't want to buy 100+ chips or spend too much money, just looking for some nice feeling chips that I can buy in smaller quantities. I know nothing about chips, I've never shuffled them before, not sure what the best material or size to use is for this kind of thing. Thanks bois
Does anyone know of a video that has the sounds of lots of poker chips shuffling such as this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pWs27axfDtg&t=1848s with no other sounds such as talking? There are a few recordings of people shuffling individual chips but I'm really looking for multiple chip sound scape. I'm thinking theres should be a clip of HSP with a 15second segment of no commmentary no talking that I can then loop.
Will shuffling a randomly sorted pile of poker chips eventually result in an ordered set
There are 4 black and 4 red poker chips that are randomly sorted. If you split them in half and consistently shuffle the two together and repeat will you eventually sort the chips into a pile of red and black chips? So you take the top half of the pile off and place to the right of the left pile. Then combine the piles with the bottom left chip being the bottom chip then the bottom right chip being the second chip, etc. Then repeat. At some point will the right pile consist wholly of red chips or black chips? If you will eventually sort the pile, what is the max number of shuffles? Does the number of chips matter? Fake edit: This seems like a kind of ordered and sorting problem I hated at uni, but this isn't homework or anything just being curious.
I keep a stack of poker chips on my desk and shuffle them constantly throughout the day. On the left is a chip I have been shuffling for 3 years, on the right a newer chip.
